Spanish-Speaking Shipper Outreach: A Guide for Freight Brokers

Calling in someone's preferred language builds trust. Guessing their language does the opposite.

Why language matters in freight sales

Across major freight markets, many shipping managers, warehouse leads, and business owners prefer to do business in Spanish. A brokerage that can follow up in Spanish has more real conversations and builds trust faster.

Route by preference, not by guess

The fastest way to lose trust is to assume. Never pick a language based on a name, surname, location, or accent. Use the preference already in your CRM, or offer Spanish when the contact asks for it on the call. Record the language you actually used.

Keep scripts aligned

Your English and Spanish scripts should match in meaning, offer, disclosures, and next step. A fluent reviewer should check every Spanish script and key objection response before launch. Machine translation is a draft, not an approval.

Use people, not machines

If a contact asks for Spanish, connect them with a bilingual human caller or schedule one. Do not push an AI voice into a language it has not been tested in. Outbound AI voices also raise TCPA issues, so keep them out of outreach until counsel signs off.
